The Original Mattress Factory is an established American manufacturer and retailer of mattresses and box springs. We build our products in our own factories and sell directly to customers through our retail showrooms. We have 12 factory locations and over 100 showrooms in multiple states along the east coast.

The Original Mattress Factory is looking for highly motivated, dependable, and driven individuals to join our team of Sales Associates. We are an employee-owned company that manufactures and sells our own mattresses and box springs directly to our customers.

Our approach to sales is different. We don't pressure customers or rely on gimmicks. Instead, we educate our customers, answer their questions, explain our products and manufacturing process, and help them make an informed decision.

We're looking for people who take pride in their work, are comfortable working independently, and want the opportunity to grow within a successful company.

The Opportunity

As a Sales Associate, you play an important role in the success of our retail operation. When you're working in a showroom, you're responsible for much more than simply assisting customers. You are responsible for helping drive the overall performance and operation of the store while you are on duty.

You will be expected to:

• Provide an exceptional, friendly, and professional customer experience.
• Educate customers and help them find the right product for their needs.
• Develop strong sales skills while maintaining a no-pressure sales approach.
• Learn our complete product line, manufacturing process, company history, and competitive environment.
• Handle customer questions and service concerns professionally.
• Maintain a clean, organized, comfortable, and inviting showroom.
• Assist with inventory, store maintenance, paperwork, and other administrative responsibilities.
• Follow company policies and procedures while helping control expenses and protect company resources.
• Communicate effectively with Store Managers, Sales Associates, and company leadership.
• Look for ways to improve the business and contribute ideas.
• Take on additional responsibility as you demonstrate your ability to handle it.

Multiple Showrooms – Travel Required

The Original Mattress Factory operates 9 showrooms in the Charlotte market.

Sales Associates typically work at 2–3 different showroom locations to help provide coverage and meet the needs of the business.

Travel between locations is a regular part of this position.

You must be comfortable adapting to different locations, working with different teams, and taking ownership of your responsibilities wherever you are assigned.

Sales or customer service experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right person.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time position
• Typically 40–45 hours per week
• Evenings, weekends, and some holidays are required
• Schedule and location may vary based on business needs
• Must be willing to work at multiple Charlotte-area showroom locations
• Some travel between locations is required
• Following successful completion of the 90-day training/probationary period: Hourly pay + commission

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
