Retail Assistant & Factory Tour Guide

About Us

The Factory is a confectionery manufacturer, retail destination and tourist attraction located on the Central Coast.

We manufacture a wide range of premium chocolates and gourmet confectionery products that are sold nationally through supermarkets, airports, gift stores and other retailers.

Our manufacturing facility also includes a retail store, café and visitor experience, where customers can see and learn about how our products are made.

We are now looking for a friendly, confident and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Retail Assistant & Factory Tour Guide.

About the Role

This is a varied customer-facing position combining retail duties with conducting our factory tours.

The majority of the role involves assisting customers in our retail areas, with a limited number of scheduled factory tours each week. We currently conduct two factory tours on Fridays.

As a Tour Guide, you will welcome visitors to The Chocolate Factory, explain our history and products, and guide guests through the factory while explaining how our chocolates and confectionery are made.

You don't need to be a confectionery expert — we will teach you about our products, history and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and professional customer service
• Assist customers in our retail store and other retail areas
• Conduct scheduled factory tours
• Explain the history of The Chocolate Factory and our brands
• Introduce visitors to our chocolate and confectionery manufacturing processes
• Answer customer and visitor questions
• Assist with product displays, presentation and general retail duties
• Help create an enjoyable and memorable experience for visitors

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, enthusiastic and confident speaking with customers and groups
• Well presented with good communication skills
• Reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups
• Interested in chocolate, confectionery, tourism and customer service
• Experienced in retail, hospitality, tourism or another customer-facing role

Previous tour guide experience in sales is desired but not essential, as training will be provided.

Hours

This is a full-time position working five days per week:

Wednesday to Sunday, approximately 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Applicants must be available to work weekends.

Salary

$54,000–$58,000 per year, depending on experience and suitability for the role.
