Retail Security Officer

Job Summary

As a Retail Security Officer, you’ll help create a safe, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues. You’ll monitor activity across the store, respond calmly to concerns and support the prevention of theft and loss.

Responsibilities

• Carry out visible patrols and use surveillance systems, including CCTV, to monitor store areas.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, safety concerns and incidents in line with store procedures.
• Support loss prevention by observing, documenting and escalating potential theft.
• Respond professionally to incidents and provide first aid within your training, where appropriate.
• Your impact: Prompt, attentive monitoring helps protect customers, colleagues and stock while keeping the store welcoming.

Skills

• Strong observation, communication and judgement skills.
• Confidence using CCTV and carrying out surveillance; experience in loss prevention is useful.
• A calm, respectful approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.
• First aid training is desirable; willingness to follow site procedures is essential.

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 per week
