About the Position

We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Store Associate to join a unique antique and vintage retail store in Carmel.

Our store features a constantly changing selection of antiques, collectibles, vintage merchandise, home décor, artwork, jewelry, furniture, and one-of-a-kind finds.

This is a hands-on retail position for someone who enjoys working with customers, organizing merchandise, creating attractive displays, and helping keep a specialty retail store running smoothly.

If you enjoy antiques, vintage items, decorating, collectibles, resale, or simply helping customers discover something interesting, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Do

As a Store Associate, you will help with the daily operation of the store, including:

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Assist customers in locating and viewing merchandise.
• Answer basic questions about merchandise and store services.
• Process customer purchases using the point-of-sale system.
• Accurately handle cash and credit/debit card transactions.
• Keep displays, shelves, cases, and merchandise areas organized.
• Return merchandise to its proper location after customer handling.
• Help create attractive and interesting merchandise displays.
• Assist with merchandise intake, labeling, photography, and inventory organization.
• Help prepare newly received merchandise for the sales floor.
• Identify merchandise that is missing prices, labels, or other information.
• Assist with opening and closing activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming shopping environment.
• Assist with store promotions, seasonal displays, special sales, and events.
• Work with management, vendors, and other team members to keep daily operations running smoothly.

Experience or interest in antiques, vintage merchandise, collectibles, estate sales, resale, consignment, home décor, merchandising, or vendor-style retail is a plus.

What Makes This Job Different

This is not a typical big-box retail job.

The merchandise changes regularly, and no two days are exactly alike. You may help a customer find a vintage collectible in the morning, organize newly arrived merchandise in the afternoon, and help create a new display before the end of the day.

Schedule

This is a part-time position.

Weekend availability is important because weekends are a significant part of our retail business.

Pay

$14.00–$18.00 per hour

Starting pay will be based on relevant experience, capabilities, and the responsibilities assigned to the position.

Physical Requirements

This position involves regular standing and walking throughout the store and may include:

• Bending and reaching.
• Light cleaning and organizing.
• Moving boxes and merchandise.
• Assisting customers with merchandise.
• Carefully handling fragile, vintage, and unique items.

Team members should ask for assistance when merchandise cannot be safely moved by one person.
