Retail Store Associate

Bloom Boom Boutique Florist an enchanting boutique meant to transport visitors into the world of flowers and beauty. We produce luxury flower arrangements and high-end event florals for brand activations and private parties. Our charming space is also available for rent for private events, as well as hosting monthly flower arranging classes open to the public. As we grow, we are looking to add a full-time retail associate to the team to handle order taking, inventory tracking, and assist with flower processing when needed.

About you

We are looking for a Retail Associate who can join our team who is good at tracking details even in a fast-paced environment. Patient, customer-service oriented, and a creative problem-solver. Strong communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Welcome customers when they come in - you will be the first person they see.
• Help them pick out their arrangement, finalize their budget, and take their order.
• Process sales transactions and handle cash register operations via Shopify POS
• Answer phone calls and take customer orders
• Resolve customer conflicts - deescalate and resolve. We can’t make everyone happy all the time. When customer disappointment or dissatisfaction happens - handle with grace.
• Write out greeting card notes for orders taken over the phone - nice handwriting is a must!
• Give tours to people looking to rent out the shop, go over rules, follow up with vendor lists, take deposits.
• Communicate with customers about when their orders going out, what time recipients will be home for delivery, and send tracking links when orders go out.

Operations & Marketing

• Perform general cleaning (Sweeping at close, taking out trash, occasional vase cleaning)
• Assist with inventory management and restocking - place orders when supplies are low
• Support basic marketing activities including social media posts and display updates
• Run occasional errands, such as picking up flowers or delivering flowers to high profile clients
• Assist groups who are renting out the space and lock up after they leave. Politely inform guests when they need to turn the music down or exit the space at the end of their rentals.
• Create and appear in occasional social media posts
• Keyholder responsibilities to open and close the store on the days of their shift.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management

Floral Work

• Process and prepare fresh flowers for arrangement and display (no previous experience required) when needed
• Prep buckets with water when delivery is incoming
• Maintain flower inventory list

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
• Basic math and cash handling skills
• Friendly, professional demeanor with customers
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
• Previous retail and customer service experience required
• Have reliable car for running errands and transportation (mileage reimbursement provided)
• Must be regularly on-time for shifts

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a flower shop environment
• Regular exposure to water, plant materials, bouquet materials, spray paint, and floral preservation chemicals
• May require working in cooler/refrigerated areas
• Weekend and holiday availability required

Compensation

• Range $24-$29/hr DOE
• We offer mileage reimbursement (at the then-current IRS mileage rate) for work-related travel in your personal car, excluding travel between your home and primary office location.
• 40 hours of PTO earned annually.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
