Retail Store Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with their shopping needs. Your primary responsibilities will include operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, managing inventory, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for all customers. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and a passion for retail sales.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
• Operate the POS system to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash and credit transactions with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Maintain an organized and visually appealing merchandise display through effective merchandising techniques.
• Stock shelves and ensure products are replenished as needed to maintain inventory levels.
• Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote sales.
• Upsell products by understanding customer needs and offering suitable recommendations.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Assist in training new staff members, providing guidance on store policies and procedures.
• Uphold phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries.

Skills

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
• Proficiency in using POS systems and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and team members.
• Experience in merchandising techniques to enhance product visibility and appeal.
• Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly while maintaining accuracy in cash handling.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a diverse customer base.
