For 24 years, Tea Market & Gift Bar has been part of the Kansas City community, helping people discover delicious teas and the many ways they can support health and well-being.

We're an independent, women-owned small business with a passion for tea, education, and genuine human connection. We call ourselves the tea shop with the heart of a teacher, and that philosophy shapes everything we do.

We're looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for learning, loves connecting with people, and wants to become a valued part of our small, close-knit team.

You're warm, energetic, curious, and naturally interested in health and wellness. You love learning, enjoy people, and find real satisfaction in being part of a small business that means something to its community.

You're organized, accurate, dependable, and bring a positive, caring attitude to your work. You notice the little things, take initiative, and are happy to pitch in wherever you're needed.

You don't need to know a thing about tea when you arrive. We'll teach you! What matters most is the attitude, care, and enthusiasm you bring with you.

What You'll Do

Every day at Tea Market is a little different, and that's part of what makes it fun! As a member of our team, you'll have a hand in just about everything that makes our shop special.

• Help customers discover teas they'll love, measuring and packaging their selections with care.
• Learn about tea and share that knowledge with customers.
• Guide customers through our Gift Bar, helping create thoughtful, personalized gifts.
• Process purchases using our Shopify Point of Sale system.
• Prepare, pack, and ship online orders.
• Keep the shop clean, organized, beautifully merchandised, and fully stocked.
• Receive deliveries, unpack shipments, and help manage inventory.
• Take initiative and pitch in wherever needed to keep the shop running smoothly.

The physical side of the job: This is an active, hands-on role that involves being on your feet for much of the day, navigating stairs and ladders, lifting and moving boxes, and handling the everyday tasks that keep a busy retail shop running.

Schedule & Availability

We're currently exploring part-time availability and would love to learn what schedule works best for you.

Two Saturdays per month are required, as Saturdays are our busiest days. We understand that occasional scheduling conflicts arise, and our team works together to plan ahead and accommodate important commitments whenever possible.
