Retail Store Manager

Duties

• Lead and supervise store staff, including recruiting, training, coaching, and developing team members to achieve their full potential
• Oversee daily store operations, ensuring all processes from cashiering to inventory management run seamlessly
• Manage merchandising efforts by implementing effective product displays, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to maximize sales
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty
• Conduct regular sales analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting to meet or exceed sales targets and control expenses
• Oversee purchasing decisions, inventory replenishment, and stock organization to optimize product availability
• Maintain accurate payroll records, cash handling procedures, and bookkeeping tasks in compliance with company policies
• Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, sales tracking, and reporting while ensuring efficient checkout experiences
• Develop marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones through community engagement or promotional campaigns
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, store policies, and operational standards at all times

Requirements

• Proven supervising experience in retail management or similar leadership roles with a strong track record of team development
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for diverse customer interactions
• Strong negotiation skills coupled with experience in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new staff members
• Proficiency in retail sales systems such as POS platforms; familiarity with merchandising software is a plus
• Demonstrated ability in budgeting, pricing strategies, sales management, and administrative tasks including bookkeeping and payroll processing
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Sound math skills for cash handling, sales calculations, and financial reporting
• Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork; experience supervising staff across various functions such as cashiering and customer service
• Knowledge of marketing techniques to promote the store’s offerings within the community or target markets
• Strong time management skills with the capacity to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
