Retail Store Manager

About the role

Commonsense caters for people buying organic food, allergy-free items, environmentally friendly goods and health and beauty products as well as providing an exceptional customer service experience. We are looking for a new Store Manager to lead a fantastic team at our Mt Eden store, an integral part of the local organic community in Auckland.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of passionate people, who care deeply about what they do
• Take the lead on customer service and model this to all staff
• Learn to order and merchandise goods across all departments - fresh foods, grocery and health and beauty
• Manage the store budget, and be responsible for growing sales
• Work with Head Office to promote the store and company within the local community and wider region

About you

• An excellent understanding of organics, fair trade and allergy friendly foods
• Excellent people skills, particularly staff management and customer service
• Experience in retail management
• A passion for sustainability and other values aligned with the business
• Competent analytical and computer skills
