Retail Supervisor – Alcohol Retail (DPS)

£15–£20 per hour | 35–40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Immediate start available

Crystalov LTD is preparing to launch a retail alcohol business in Potters Bar, including online orders, customer collections and delivery of sealed alcoholic products for consumption off the premises.

We are looking for a responsible individual who holds a valid UK Personal Licence and is willing to provide written consent to be named as the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS).

This is a hands-on alcohol retail operations role combining stock control, picking and packing orders, customer collections and checks on who alcohol is sold to. Previous bar-management experience is not essential.

The successful candidate will take genuine operational responsibility for alcohol sales and support the launch and day-to-day operation of the business. An immediate start is available to help prepare stock, organise order fulfilment and put operating procedures in place before launch.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Designated Premises Supervisor for the licensed premises
• Authorise and monitor retail and online alcohol sales
• Ensure compliance with the Premises Licence and Licensing Act requirements
• Implement and maintain Challenge 25 procedures
• Maintain staff authorisations, training records, refusals and incident logs
• Monitor age-verification procedures for online orders, customer collections and deliveries
• Ensure alcohol is sold only during the hours permitted by the Premises Licence
• Maintain stock records, carry out stock checks, pick and pack orders, and support customer collections
• Ensure alcoholic products are stored and dispatched securely
• Train staff involved in alcohol sales
• Act as a contact for the licensing authority and police when required
• Where specifically permitted by the Premises Licence, supervise limited complimentary product samples for customers aged 18 or over
• Ensure that no general drinking or bar service takes place on the premises

Essential requirements

• Valid UK Personal Licence
• Willingness to provide written consent to be named as DPS
• Willingness to take genuine operational responsibility for alcohol licensing compliance
• Understanding of responsible alcohol retailing and age verification
• Reliable, responsible and well organised
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Good spoken and written English
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable but not essential

• Experience in retail, e-commerce, warehousing or customer service
• Experience with online alcohol sales or delivery services
• Knowledge of Challenge 25, refusals logs and staff authorisations
• Stock-control or order-fulfilment experience

• £15–£20 per hour, depending on relevant experience. An equivalent annual salary may be agreed in the employment contract based on the contracted weekly hours.
