Retail Supervisor – Phoenix Daily Mart Position

Pay rate: $25- $30
Hours- Minimum 30 hours per week and Maximum 45 hours per week

About the Role

Phoenix Daily Mart is looking for a responsible and customer-focused Retail Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of our dairy store, maintaining high customer service standards, coordinating stock and merchandising activities, and ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the store.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure customers receive prompt, professional service and quality goods and services.
• Respond to customer enquiries and complaints regarding products and services and resolve issues appropriately.
• Plan and prepare staff work schedules and assign team members to specific duties and areas of the store.
• Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, promoting and, where required, managing the dismissal of staff in accordance with company procedures.
• Address staff concerns and grievances and assist in resolving workplace issues.
• Train and instruct staff on customer service standards and handling difficult or complicated sales situations.
• Examine returned or damaged goods and determine the appropriate action, including replacement, refund or other resolution in accordance with store procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels, undertake stock checks and order new stock to maintain appropriate product availability.
• Ensure products are correctly priced, labelled, stocked and displayed throughout the store.
• Supervise stock presentation and replenishment to ensure shelves and display areas remain organised and adequately stocked.
• Ensure store safety, security and loss-prevention procedures are followed and enforced by staff.
• Monitor general store operations during assigned shifts and ensure staff comply with established operational procedures.

Skills and Attributes

The successful candidate should have:

• Previous 6 months experience in retail, preferably within a convenience store, dairy, grocery or similar retail environment or Level 5 or above qualification in Business, Management or other relevant field
• Good supervisory, organisational and staff coordination skills.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle customer complaints and challenging situations professionally.
• Good understanding of stock control, product pricing and merchandising.
• Ability to train, guide and supervise retail staff.
• A responsible and reliable approach to workplace safety and store security.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy and customer-focused retail environment.
