Retail Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a Retail Supervisor to join the team at Kochs Foodland in Loxton, SA 5333. This is a casual position offering flexibility and the opportunity to develop your retail management skills in a dynamic supermarket environment. As a Retail Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining excellent customer service standards, supporting the retail floor operations, and ensuring our store runs smoothly. You will report to the Store Manager and be responsible for supervising a team of retail staff whilst maintaining the high standards our customers expect from us.

Key responsibilities

• Be a friendly member of our team on our Checkouts

• Supervise and ensure staff deliver exceptional customer service at all times

• Monitor stock levels and merchandise displays, ensuring products are well-presented and readily available

• Assist with the receiving, unpacking and stocking of deliveries

• Help maintain a clean, safe and organised retail environment in compliance with health and safety standards

• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to junior staff members

• Contribute to achieving store targets and key performance indicators

• Perform regular cash handling and till operations as required

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in retail, ideally with some supervisory or team-leading experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both staff and customers
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take initiative
• Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting stock
• Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility around casual working arrangements
• A friendly, approachable demeanour and genuine interest in customer service
• Basic numeracy skills for till operations and stock management
• Desirable: prior experience in a supermarket or food retail environment
