Retail Supervisor

Build your career with Wendouree Mitre 10! We are seeking a motivated Retail Supervisor to support our team, deliver excellent customer service and keep our retail hardware department looking its best.

In this varied, hands-on role, you will help coordinate daily retail operations, provide knowledgeable product advice and support stock management, merchandising and customer orders. Working closely with the Site Manager and wider team, you will help drive sales and maintain a safe, organised and welcoming store. Weekend work may be required as part of the roster.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting and guiding team members to deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
• Helping customers choose the right hardware and trade products for their projects.
• Managing customer enquiries and complaints professionally, seeking management support when required.
• Processing point-of-sale transactions accurately and following company procedures.
• Maintaining stock presentation, promotional displays and visual merchandising standards.
• Coordinating stock replenishment, rotation and quality checks, including managing damaged merchandise.
• Picking and packing hardware orders for volume builder customers and placing purchase orders as required.
• Supporting daily administration, including emails, order enquiries and customer follow-up.
• Maintaining high housekeeping standards and ensuring compliance with workplace safety procedures.

What will you bring?

• Proven retail experience, preferably in hardware, timber or building supplies.
• The ability to guide and support a team in a busy retail environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong IT and point-of-sale (POS) skills, with confidence using retail and stock management systems.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Initiative, patience and a practical approach to solving problems.
• A commitment to safe work practices and a well-presented store.
• A positive attitude and the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
