What You’ll Get to Own

This isn't your typical retail position.

You'll help keep our retail and warehouse operations running while working alongside individuals with disabilities to help them learn job skills, build confidence, solve problems, and become more independent.

One part of your day may look like retail—helping customers, operating the register, stocking merchandise, organizing donations, or keeping the store looking great. Another part may involve coaching someone through a job task, celebrating progress, or finding a different way to teach a skill.

We’re looking for someone who doesn't just see a task that needs completed—you see an opportunity to teach someone else how to do it successfully.

• Provide friendly, professional customer service
• Operate the register and assist with day-to-day retail operations
• Stock, organize, and maintain merchandise and sales areas
• Accept, sort, and organize donations
• Work in both retail and warehouse environments
• Coach individuals with disabilities as they learn workplace skills
• Break tasks into manageable steps and adapt your coaching to the person
• Encourage independence, problem-solving, confidence, and perseverance

What You’ll Need

You must be 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED. You'll also need to meet RISE's background and training requirements, have a valid driver's license, and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur's license within 14 days of hire.

You should be comfortable working in a retail and warehouse environment, using basic computer and point-of-sale systems, working on your feet, and lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds. Some evenings, weekends, or holidays may be needed depending on scheduling.

Retail experience is helpful, but we're also looking at who you are: patient, dependable, adaptable, organized, supportive, and willing to learn.
