Who We Are

Surplus Depot is a family-owned returns processing and auction business based in Aurora. We receive retail returns and overstock inventory from major retailers, process them, and sell through online auctions. We’re growing fast and looking for people who want to be part of that growth.

We’re a small team where everyone’s contributions matter. We hold ourselves to high standards and are looking for dependable people who take pride in doing their job well.

What You'll Do

Your job is to turn retail returns inventory into clean, accurate auction listings. You’ll be responsible for cataloging a high volume of items quickly and correctly. You’ll work at a dedicated station inspecting and cataloging a high volume of retail merchandise for our online auctions.

Your responsibilities include:

• Identifying products and verifying product information
• Assessing and documenting condition, damage, missing parts, and functionality
• Testing products
• Using an iPad and internal software
• Labeling and staging completed inventory
• Maintaining a consistent pace while meeting production, quality, and accuracy standards
• Keeping your workstation clean and organized
• Assisting with other operational tasks as needed

What We're Looking For

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Enjoy repetitive, production-style work
• Good general knowledge of consumer products
• Comfortable using iPads, apps, scanners, and other technology
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs regularly
• Reliable and punctual
• Fluent in English
• Must pass a background check
• Drug-free workplace

Preferred experience, but not required:

• Production, assembly, manufacturing, or quality control
• Retail, e-commerce, or product inspection
• Inventory processing or fulfillment

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
