What they need

You will turn registered point clouds into accurate, well-structured Revit models of large industrial facilities, working in a production pod of about 10 modelers led by a BIM Lead and supported by dedicated QA/QC checkers.

Key responsibilities

  • Model existing conditions in Revit from registered point clouds (ReCap RCP/RCS) to LOD 350, and to LOD 400 at major structural and mechanical connection points.

  • Model heavy structural steel, pipe racks, platforms, stairs, ladders, handrails, grating, walkways and mezzanines using correct member shapes and connection geometry.

  • Model large mechanical equipment (vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, tanks, skids) and build or adapt Revit families where no suitable family exists.

  • Model architectural elements for office and support spaces (walls, floors, roofs, doors, ceilings) to the required LOD.

  • Work to tight dimensional tolerances and run self-checks against the point cloud before handing models to QC. Fix QC findings promptly.

  • Prepare point clouds for modeling (review registration, clean up, section and segment). Flag gaps, occlusions and areas that need a field check.

  • Compare furnished record drawings with the installed conditions shown in the cloud, and log discrepancies clearly.

  • Name and parameterise elements to the owner's asset hierarchy and data standards. Work within shared worksets and linked models.

  • Produce 2D DWG deliverables from the models and contribute to the federated Navisworks model and coordination reviews with the piping team.

  • Follow the BIM Execution Plan, modeling standards and data-security procedures. Record hours and progress accurately.
