What they need

Company Overview

Kavveri Defence is a publicly listed designer and manufacturer of RF antennas, filters, and components, headquartered in Bangalore since 1996, with 30 years of engineering design and manufacturing experience serving defence and commercial RF markets domestically and internationally. Kavveri's core strength lies in full in-house design-to-test capability: a growing R&D team designs and simulates RF products, engineers mechanical structures, enclosures, and fixtures for prototyping and fabrication, and validates the performance of every in-house designed product using an anechoic chamber, SATIMO near-field scanning system, and vector network analyzers.

Position Summary

As part of the continued growth of our R&D team, Kavveri is seeking an RF Design Engineer with deep subject matter expertise to drive new product development across RF antennas, RF filters, and related RF components, from concept through production release. This is a specialist role demanding demonstrated mastery of electromagnetic design principles, joining a team that is expanding its technical capability and scope.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Join the R&D team to lead new product development of RF antennas, filters, and related RF components, from requirements definition through electromagnetic simulation, prototyping, qualification, and production handoff
  • Design and optimize RF antennas, filters, and related RF components using full-wave EM simulation tools (CST Studio Suite, HFSS, or equivalent)
  • Apply advanced electromagnetic and microwave network theory to resolve complex RF design challenges
  • Validate prototypes using in-house anechoic chamber and near-field test infrastructure; conduct root-cause analysis on performance deviations
  • Conduct or coordinate MIL-STD environmental and EMI/EMC qualification testing as part of the design validation process
  • Prepare formal design review documentation (PDR/CDR packages, test reports, datasheets) for internal R&D review
  • Contribute technical input to tender evaluations and design-for-cost analysis
  • Collaborate with fellow R&D engineers on shared design challenges and contribute to the team's growing technical capability
  • Mentor junior R&D engineers on RF design methodology

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Electromagnetics, RF/Microwave Engineering, Antenna Theory, or closely related discipline required; Master's degree with substantial equivalent expertise may be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on new product development experience in RF/antenna design
  • Demonstrated mastery of EM simulation software (CST Studio Suite, HFSS, or equivalent)
  • Rigorous grounding in antenna theory, microwave network theory, and electromagnetic design principles
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD environmental and EMI/EMC qualification testing standards

Application Process

Interested candidates should submit a CV/resume to [email protected] or apply above.
