Ride Operator

FlyOver America (flyover-america.com) is searching for a Guest Experience Guide with an entrepreneurial spirit and positive attitude to join our team. FlyOver America is a dynamic visitor attraction at Mall of America. A flight simulation ride like no other, guests will soar across some of America’s most spectacular sights with the latest in flight ride technology. In addition to a spectacular film, the ride’s dynamic seating system and special effects include wind, scents, mist and combine to create a truly immersive flight experience. The successful candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a positive outlook and a desire to make FlyOver America a one-of-a-kind, wonderful experience for guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring guest and employee safety is first priority
• Operating FlyOver America ride
• Perform daily safety checks of the ride
• Perform basic repairs to the ride
• Maintain high level of guest experience
• Other duties as assigned

DESIRED SKILLS

• Demonstrate technical proficiency and background with a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and computer systems
• Possess a methodical approach to work assignments
• Demonstrate exceptional problem solving ability and high attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and think critically during emergency situations
• Team-focused attitude
• Excellent interpersonal-skills and a positive, friendly demeanor
• Prior experience with electromechanical and/or mechanical theme park rides preferred
• Ability to ensure the application of workplace health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for both guests and employees
• Ability to work effectively un-supervised if required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in an AV / Entertainment systems background preferred
• Demonstrated basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and computer systems
• 2+ years’ experience in the tourism/hospitality industry preferred
• Availability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Comfortable with sitting for long periods of time

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
