About the role

A Rigger sets up rigging equipment, including ropes, cables, pulleys, hoists, and cranes, to move and position heavy loads. The role involves performing load calculations, inspecting equipment, and operating machinery to lift and move materials safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Set up rigging equipment, including ropes, cables, pulleys, hoists, and cranes, to move and position heavy loads
• Perform load calculations to determine the type of rigging needed for various projects, ensuring that it can safely support the weight and weight distribution of the items being moved
• Inspect rigging equipment before and after use, ensuring all components are in good working condition
• Report any damaged or worn-out equipment for repair or replacement
• Adhere to strict safety standards, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure safety procedures are followed at all times during rigging operations
• Operate cranes, hoists, or other machinery to lift and move materials and equipment, ensuring proper load distribution to prevent accidents
• Work with other team members (e.g., crane operators, engineers, construction workers) to ensure smooth and safe operations during lifts
• Monitor the load and rigging setup during lifting to ensure safety and efficiency
• Maintain accurate records of equipment used, load weights, and safety checks
• Provide guidance to junior riggers or workers in proper rigging practices and safety protocols

About you

• Formal rigger training certification from TESDA or OSHA, preferably Certified Rigger Level 1, 2, or 3
• Must know how to drive four-wheel vehicles and possess a valid driver's license
