Rigger

Key Responsibilities

• Lifting & Rigging Operations: Select, inspect, and safely set up rigging equipment (slings, shackles, chains, hoists, and jacks) to move heavy marine machinery, ship sections, and structural plates.
• Signal & Communication: Direct crane operators using standard hand signals or radio communication to ensure safe and precise lifting paths within complex shipyard environments.
• Load Estimation: Accurately estimate weight loads and determine the center of gravity to choose the correct lifting gear and hitch configurations.
• Equipment Inspection: Conduct strict daily inspections of all rigging hardware for wear, damage, or defects, and immediately tag out unsafe equipment.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to shipyard lifting protocols, working-at-height guidelines, and confined-space safety procedures.

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

• Industry Experience: Marine / Shipyard experience is mandatory. A strong background working specifically in Shipyard / Drydock environments is highly preferred.
• Certification: Possession of a valid, recognized Rigger Certification (such as a 3rd party safety card or TUV certificate) is typically required for shipyard projects.
• Age Limit: Must be below 40 years of age.
• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and capable of working outdoors, at heights, and in tight spaces common to marine vessels.

Pay: AED1,800.00 - AED2,200.00 per month
