What they need

Nucentra Solutions is seeking a Rigging Manager to own the movement of heavy equipment through our Dallas facility: from receiving containers and large enclosures off trucks, through moves between bays, to loading finished units for shipment.

The role plans and supervises every lift, runs the rigging and yard crews, and manages the contracted rigging and crane resources that supplement our own team. It reports to the Plant Manager and works closely with Production, Logistics and HSE.

We are looking for someone who has managed lifts and material movement of heavy, high-value goods, and who treats the lift plan as seriously as the lift itself.

What You Will Own:

Lift Planning and Execution

● Plan and supervise crane, forklift and skidding operations for receiving, in-plant moves, positioning and loading of heavy equipment.

● Prepare lift plans, rigging selections and sequences for non-routine or critical lifts, and sign them off before work starts.

● Coordinate the daily movement schedule with the Production Foremen and Logistics so bays are fed and finished units ship on time.

● Receive inbound containers and oversized freight, verify condition and stage equipment in the yard and bays.

Crew and Vendor Management:

● Lead, schedule and develop the rigging crew and yard crew.

● Manage contracted rigging, crane and skidding vendors: scope, scheduling, performance and cost.

● Train crew members on rigging practice, signaling, load securing and equipment operation, and keep their certifications current.

● Balance in-house and contracted resources to the workload and recommend when to add or reduce either.

Equipment, Yard and Safety:

● Own the inspection, certification and maintenance of cranes, forklifts, rigging hardware and lifting attachments.

● Maintain yard layout, staging areas and traffic routes so material flows without congestion or damage.

● Enforce lifting, exclusion zone and load-securing rules with the HSE team, and lead the investigation of any lifting incident or near miss.

● Keep lift records, equipment inspection logs and vendor documentation current.

What We Are Looking For:

● 5 years in rigging, heavy haul, crane operations or industrial material handling, with at least 3 years supervising crews.

● Experience planning and executing lifts of heavy, high-value equipment such as enclosures, electrical houses, transformers, skids, or large machinery.

● Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Subpart CC and ASME B30 standards, load charts, rigging hardware and lift plan preparation.

● Experience managing contracted crane and rigging vendors.

● Forklift and crane operator certification, or qualified rigger and signal person credentials, preferred.

● Able to read equipment drawings and shipping documents to establish weights, centers of gravity, and lift points.

● Organized, with the discipline to keep inspection records, certifications and lift plans current.

● Clear communicator who can direct a crew and a vendor on a busy yard.

The Person Who Will Succeed in This Role

You have moved heavy, expensive equipment for a living, and nothing has been dropped on your watch because you plan before you lift. You are calm on a busy yard and firm about exclusion zones.

You understand that a late move stops a production line, so you plan the day with the Foremen rather than around them. You are as comfortable reviewing a crane vendor's invoice as you are standing next to the load.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means:

● Zero lifting incidents, dropped loads or equipment damage.

● Bays receive equipment when they need it and finished units load on schedule.

● Cranes, forklifts and rigging hardware are inspected, certified and available.

● Contracted rigging cost is controlled and in-house capability grows over time.

● The crew is trained, certified and retained.

Performance is measured against agreed targets for safety, on-time moves, equipment availability, contracted rigging cost and crew certification, set with leadership and reviewed monthly.
