About the role

The Risk Engineer/Officer is responsible for providing deep technical expertise and risk engineering depth to support the high-quality execution of risk assessments. This role ensures that complex accounts particularly in Property and Casualty are evaluated with precision while maintaining the operational speed necessary to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed "COPE" (Construction, Occupancy, Protection, Exposure) assessments, focusing on physical hazards and the operational readiness of life safety protection systems
• Ensure the completeness of technical risk assessments of P&C's risk-managed key accounts
• Maintain the established turnaround time (TAT) for standard pre-bind risk reviews and sales enablement requests
• Achieve established accuracy in technical reports, specifically in exposure mapping and loss estimation using Maximum Foreseeable Loss (MFL)
• Issue "SMART" risk recommendations and ensure on-time submission of all Risk Engineering reports according to the department log
• Provide "depth" of data regarding sprinkler density, water supply capacity, and pump pressure; evaluate building vulnerability to fire and natural catastrophes
• Focus on accuracy in exposure mapping and help identifying critical coverage gaps

About you

• Must demonstrate deep engineering knowledge, including the ability to define and calculate estimated losses
• Ability to identify specific operational hazards inherent to the risks
• Proactive approach to data gaps; ability to contact clients immediately to maintain the TAT despite missing information
• Willingness to complete trainings annually to stay ahead of industry trends
