What they need
Why Child Australia
At Child Australia, you’ll be part of an organisation that believes every child deserves the best possible start in life.
We are a leading early childhood education and care organisation operating across Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Our people work alongside children, families, professionals and communities to create safe, inclusive and high-quality learning environments where children can thrive.
When you join Child Australia, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven team where your work makes a real difference. We value collaboration, professional growth and the contribution every team member brings to the children and communities we serve.
Join Child Australia and be part of something meaningful — helping shape positive outcomes for children, families and communities.
Are you passionate about making a difference through strong governance, integrity and continuous improvement?
We are looking for an experienced Risk & Compliance Partner to join our People, Risk & Integrity team.
This is a highly visible, service-facing role where you will play a key part in strengthening compliance, managing organisational risk and supporting our services to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes for children, families and communities.
You will work closely with Service Leaders, Managers and Educators across our services and programs, providing practical advice, coaching and support to build compliance capability and foster a proactive risk culture.
About the role
Reporting to the Director People, Risk and Integrity, you will provide specialist leadership and support across regulatory compliance, risk management and quality assurance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitor compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Law and Regulations, Child Safe Standards, Child Care Subsidy requirements and WHS legislation.
- Provide specialist advice and deliver compliance education and regulatory updates to Service Leaders, Managers and Educators.
- Lead the administration, configuration and ongoing management of the organisation’s 1Place compliance and quality management system.
- Provide end-user support, training and guidance to build capability and promote consistent use of the platform across the business.
- Strengthen the quality and consistency of care through practical, real-time coaching, guidance and feedback.
- Conduct and coordinate internal compliance audits and support services through regulatory assessments and reviews.
- Investigate compliance breaches and support the implementation and follow-up of corrective actions.
- Identify emerging risks and maintain the service compliance risk register.
- Supporting emergency preparedness, evacuation planning and drill requirements.
- Develop, review and maintain policies, procedures and practical compliance resources.
About you
We are looking for someone who brings strong regulatory and compliance knowledge together with excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
Other requirements of the role include:
- A qualification in Early Childhood or Education and experience working in an early childhood setting.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Risk & Compliance Partner or Advisory-level role.
- Strong working knowledge of the National Law, National Regulations, National Quality Framework, CCS requirements, Child Safe Standards and WHS legislation.
- Experience leading internal audits and investigations from commencement through to completion.
- Experience developing and reviewing policies and procedures.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and team development skills.
- Strong computer literacy, including experience with databases and reporting.
- Governance, risk and compliance certification or experience will be highly regarded.
- Experience within another highly regulated sector such as aged care, NDIS, education or health care will also be valued.
