Risk Contractor

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Analyst or Risk Manager for an initial 4 month contract.

Reporting to the Regional Risk Manager, you'll provide additional capability to the existing first line risk function, supporting a regional portfolio spanning Auckland, Northland and surrounding regions. This is a hands-on role focussed on improving the quality and consistency of risk information.

About the Role

This contract will see you supporting the ongoing implementation and maintenance of an established operational risk framework. A key priority will be reviewing and quality assuring a large regional risk register, ensuring risks are accurately captured, consistently assessed and aligned with organisational risk standards.

Working as part of the first line of defence, you'll partner with operational stakeholders to strengthen risk management practices while providing additional capacity to the Regional Risk team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and quality assure a regional risk register containing approximately 500 operational risks.
• Validate risk descriptions, controls, consequence and likelihood ratings, and treatment plans.
• Ensure risks are recorded in accordance with the organisation's established risk framework.
• Work collaboratively with operational teams to improve the quality and consistency of risk information.

About You

To be successful, you'll bring:

• Proven experience as a senior risk analyst or risk manager working in a first line operational risk role.
• Experience within large, operational organisations where enterprise risk frameworks have been successfully embedded and implemented.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and assess large volumes of risk data.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex risk registers.
• You should be available to start work in Auckland as soon as possible.
