Risk Control Specialist - Mandaring Speaking (PH, WFH)

Working Schedule: Monday - Friday (10am - 7pm PH) | Is not expected to operate on a 24/7 rotation

Responsibilities

• Risk analysis and pattern identification: Use transaction and user behaviour data to identify risk patterns in card-based deposit/withdrawal flows, including fraud, cash-out abuse, stolen card/card-not-present (CNP) fraud, and malicious chargebacks. Produce risk analysis reports.
• Strategy development and optimisation: Independently design, deploy, and tune risk control strategies (blacklists/whitelists, rule engines, risk scoring, etc.), covering application-level anti-fraud, transaction-level anti-fraud, and account risk monitoring.
• Case investigation and remediation: Conduct in-depth analysis of suspicious transactions and organised fraud rings, and translate findings into playbooks that feed back into strategy improvements.
• Metrics monitoring and review: Continuously monitor core metrics such as strategy hit rate, false-positive rate, and fraud loss rate, with regular reviews and iteration.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, compliance, customer support, banks, and card networks to drive risk issues through to resolution.

• Experience

• 2+ years of relevant risk control experience, with hands-on experience in at least one of the following:

• Crypto exchanges / Web3 payment platforms.

• Cross-border payment platforms.

• Payment anti-fraud platforms.

• Familiar with risk points across the card deposit/withdrawal chain (3DS, chargebacks, cash-out abuse, stolen/CNP fraud, etc.).

• Familiar with risk control logic for prepaid/virtual card issuance (application anti-fraud, transaction monitoring, money laundering detection, etc.).

• Able to independently design and implement risk strategies, with a quantitative mindset around measuring strategy effectiveness.

• Data-sensitive with clear logical thinking; able to spot risk patterns within large datasets.

• Highly self-driven; able to independently push issues to resolution rather than relying on being assigned tasks.

• Resilient under pressure; able to respond to sudden risk events.

• Proficiency in SQL with the ability to independently extract and analyse data is required;

• Experience with Python and/or BI tools (Tableau, Metabase, etc.) is a plus.

• Language skills

• Fluent in both Mandarin and English (spoken and written).

• Other pluses

• Experience applying risk models / machine learning.

• Familiarity with major card network rules (Visa VAMP, Mastercard Excessive Chargeback Program, etc.).

• Knowledge of overseas regulatory frameworks (MSB, MiCA, VASP, etc.).
