About the role

This role plays a critical part in bridging the gap between data engineering and analytical problem-solving within the Risk Management Group. The position is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the scalable data infrastructure and complex data processing pipelines that power the Bank's Credit Risk models for both Retail and Wholesale portfolios and Other Risk Area. This role involves ensuring the highest data quality, creating insightful analytics dashboards, and applying basic statistical thinking to support robust risk modeling. Additionally, this position requires leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency and applying strong data storytelling to collaborate with cross-functional teams, translating complex data concepts into actionable business insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize complex data processing pipelines and scalable data infrastructure from the ground up to support risk analytics
• Implement rigorous data validation techniques and quality control processes to ensure the highest data integrity for risk modeling and reporting
• Design, develop, and maintain automated Analytics Dashboards and Managerial Reports using visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to effectively track portfolio performance and support data-driven decision-making
• Explore and appropriately apply AI tools and technologies to streamline coding, enhance data processing efficiency, and support analytical tasks while adhering to the Bank's data security guidelines
• Act as a bridge between technical and business teams by applying data storytelling techniques to translate complex data concepts, trends, and processes into clear, easy-to-understand insights for non-technical stakeholders
• Apply basic statistical thinking to troubleshoot data anomalies, analyze data patterns, and continuously improve data architecture and efficiency
• Bring a proactive, growth mindset to identify bottlenecks, solve complex data problems, and elevate the team's data engineering practices

About you

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related fields
• 0 - 3 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Strong coding skills and proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SAS
• Proven hands-on experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks
• Proficiency in Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools, particularly Power BI, for creating impactful managerial reports and dashboards
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) and the ability to apply prompt engineering and AI-assisted workflows effectively and responsibly
• Strong Data Storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to simplify and present complex technical issues effectively to diverse audiences
• Solid understanding of data infrastructure design, complex data processing, and enterprise data validation techniques
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, strong teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
