Referment

Referment is working with an established independent treasury and risk management consultancy that advises financial sponsors and corporates worldwide. Its London-based European risk management team focuses on interest rate and foreign exchange hedging strategy for private equity sponsors, their portfolio companies and corporates.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Risk Management for Europe, you will manage and support risk management assignments from strategy through delivery. Day to day this means advising clients on defining and executing hedging strategies for interest rate and FX exposures, producing robust proposals and delivering to professional standards. The role blends relationship work with quantitative depth: you will develop existing and new client relationships in the local financial sponsor market, help market the firm's services, and build bespoke analytical tools — including a multi-asset, cross-correlated simulation engine — alongside consultants and the firm's in-house developers, integrating those tools into its analytics platform for standardised delivery. You will also contribute to fund-level FX hedging capabilities and to the firm's broader analytics and client deliverables.
What We're Looking For
You will have a minimum of five years of experience, including hands-on responsibility for developing interest rate and/or foreign exchange hedging strategies, and in-depth knowledge of financial derivatives. A highly professional approach suitable for presenting to financial sponsors and senior management is important, as is the ability to understand a business's financial risks and translate strategy into non-technical terms. A background in banking is an advantage, though corporate treasury or consulting experience focused on risk management strategies is equally acceptable.
Entrepreneurial drive and a consultative, articulate style matter here: this is a role where business development and relationship ownership directly shape results.
This could suit...
A quantitative risk professional from a bank, corporate treasury or advisory background who wants to combine derivative modelling and hedging strategy with client-facing responsibility.
