Risk Manager, Luxembourg AIFM

Overview

A growing, international private credit platform is building out its Luxembourg AIFM and is hiring a Risk Manager to join the risk function at an early stage. You will work closely with the Conducting Officer, take ownership of day to day risk monitoring and reporting, and help build the framework as the platform scales.

The Role

As Risk Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Owning the operational risk event process, including logging, assessing, escalating and tracking events through to remediation
• Supporting the AIFM's operational and ICT risk framework, including DORA requirements, incident management and third party oversight
• Monitoring investment, concentration, counterparty, leverage, market and liquidity risk across the fund range
• Supporting liquidity and market stress testing, and monitoring FX and rates exposures and related hedging
• Monitoring investment restrictions and limits, and managing breaches and escalation
• Preparing recurring risk reporting, including quarterly risk reports and Board packs that feed into group level reporting
• Supporting risk and control self assessments, risk profiles and risk limit frameworks
• Contributing to the drafting and maintenance of risk policies and procedures
• Supporting regulatory reporting and responding to CSSF requests on risk matters
• Working with the wider risk, portfolio, compliance and finance teams to keep the governance framework consistent
• Taking part in new product and new investment review from a risk perspective

Candidate Profile

We are keen to speak with candidates who:

• Have 5+ years of risk management experience, ideally within a Luxembourg AIFM, management company or alternative asset manager
• Have hands on experience of operational risk, including event management and control monitoring
• Have working knowledge of AIFMD, the Luxembourg regulatory framework and DORA
• Have exposure to private credit, private debt or other alternative strategies, though strong adjacent experience will also be considered
• Are comfortable preparing Board level risk reporting and working directly with a Conducting Officer
• Are hands on, organised and detail oriented, and happy to build processes rather than only run them
• Have ambition to progress into a Conducting Officer role over time
