Risk Manager - Commodities (Physical)

We are partnering with an established commodities trading business looking to appoint a Risk Manager to its Singapore team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong market risk experience within physical commodities trading , ideally across oil, refined products or petrochemicals. The successful candidate will work closely with the trading and operational teams, providing independent risk oversight and supporting the continued development of the firm's risk management framework.

Key responsibilities of this Risk Manager - Commodities

• Monitor, analyse and report market risk exposures across the trading portfolio
• Produce and review daily P&L and exposure reporting
• Perform risk analysis including VaR, sensitivity and scenario analysis
• Work closely with trading teams on commodity forward curves, trading and hedging activities
• Develop and enhance market and credit risk policies, frameworks and methodologies
• Partner closely with front and back-office teams across trading, shipping and operations
• Provide risk insights and recommendations to support portfolio optimisation
• Ensure risk activities remain aligned with applicable regulations and industry best practice

Key requirements of this Risk Manager - Commodities

• Relevant experience in market risk within commodities or physical trading
• Exposure to oil, refined products or petrochemicals would be highly advantageous
• Strong understanding of P&L, market exposures, VaR and other risk methodologies
• Familiarity with commodity trading and risk management systems ( CTRM/ETRM )
• Commercially minded and comfortable partnering closely with trading and operational stakeholders
