RN Infusion Manager

Overview

Alabama Medical Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced RN Infusion Manager to lead our infusion therapy team with energy and expertise. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of infusion services, ensuring exceptional patient care, compliance with healthcare regulations, and efficient team management. As a vital leader within our healthcare facility, you will drive quality improvement initiatives, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and uphold the highest standards of nursing practice. Duties

• Lead and supervise the infusion nursing team, fostering a positive and productive work environment through effective communication and managerial oversight.
• Oversee patient assessments, ensuring comprehensive evaluations of medical history, physiology, and current health status prior to infusion procedures.
• Manage the planning, administration, and documentation of IV infusions, medication injections, and related procedures following HIPAA guidelines and nursing policies.
• Administer a wide range of infusion therapies including IV infusions, medication injections, and biologic treatments with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
• Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans aligned with patient needs and clinical protocols.
• Ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations, long-term care regulations, and accreditation standards such as NCQA standards for quality assurance.
• Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to document patient care accurately, manage medical records, and streamline workflow processes.
• Monitor staff performance through supervision of nurses’ clinical practices including IV insertion, sterile processing techniques, and infection control measures.
• Implement quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, infection prevention, and efficient utilization review to optimize resource use

Qualifications

• Valid RN license with current state licensure required; BSN preferred.
• Extensive experience in administering IV Infusion
• Proven leadership or nurse management experience in infusion services or related settings such as hospital medicine, clinics, or long-term care facilities.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and medical documentation standards.
• Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems ;
• Expertise in IV insertion techniques, venipuncture, sterile technique, and aseptic practices.
• Knowledge of hospital regulations including HIPAA compliance and state healthcare laws governing infusion therapy practices.
• Ability to assess patients thoroughly through vital signs measurement, physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation skills including laboratory experience or sonography is advantageous.
• Strong managerial communication skills for supervising teams managing complex cases involving long-term care regulations or acute pain management.
