In this vital role, you will provide expert post-operative care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety, comfort, and smooth transition back to baseline. You will utilize your critical thinking, clinical skills, and compassionate approach to monitor vital signs, manage pain, and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes within a fast-paced, supportive environment committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, airway status, and level of consciousness immediately post-surgery or procedure.
  • Administer medications and interventions such as IV infusions, pain management techniques, and sedation reversal agents following established protocols.
  • Monitor patients closely for signs of complications such as bleeding, respiratory distress, or adverse reactions; respond swiftly with appropriate interventions.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care transitions from operating room to recovery.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), including assessments, interventions, and responses.
  • Educate patients and their families about post-operative care instructions, discharge procedures, and medication management.
  • Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards during all patient care activities.

Experience

  • Valid RN license with current state registration and compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Critical care experience in settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, or trauma centers is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with IV insertion, catheter care, ventilator management, and airway management techniques.

  • Prior experience working in hospital medicine or surgical units; familiarity with PACU procedures is a plus.
