RN PACU - Part Time

Position Summary: The Clinical Staff PACU Nurse is an experienced Registered Nurse responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. Under supervision, they organize, plan, and coordinate individualized care based on the Watson Model of Care, addressing age-specific and population needs. They support the hospital's mission, core values, and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing processes for problem solving and anticipate patient needs.
• Perform focused assessments, recognize subtle clinical changes, and adapt care plans accordingly.
• Prioritize and organize patient care, ensuring follow-through.
• Provide age-appropriate care, applying current research and critical thinking.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, including hourly rounding and SBAR hand-offs.
• Document care accurately, evaluate intervention outcomes, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Develop therapeutic nurse-patient relationships, respecting patient rights and promoting satisfaction.
• Supervise ancillary staff and ensure a safe, compliant environment.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and unit readiness tasks.

Qualifications & Skills

• Associates degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of one year of critical care or acute care nursing experience.
• Current California Nursing license; certifications in BLS and ACLS.
• Post Anesthesia Nursing certification preferred.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish), basic computer skills, and EMR experience are a plus.
• Must complete CPI Blue Card within 90 days if required.
