Registered Nurse (RN) - Psych/Rehab

Job Summary :

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care. The RN will coordinate patient care, assess health needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, administer medications and treatments, and provide clinical guidance to support staff.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high-stress healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prioritize and coordinate daily patient care.
• Assign patient care responsibilities and collaborate with clinical staff on treatment plans.
• Perform ongoing physical and psychosocial assessments from admission through discharge.
• Administer medications and treatments according to facility policies and procedures.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans.
• Document nursing assessments, medication administration, clinical observations, transfers, and other required records.
• Coordinate workflow and communicate patient-care concerns to unit supervisors.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, procedures, and treatment goals.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and behavioral or agitated situations.
• Provide orientation and support to unit staff.
• Promote patient safety and ensure infection-control standards are followed.
• Serve as a patient advocate while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians, support staff, agency personnel, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements :

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited college.
• Active Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current behavioral intervention training or ability to maintain required training.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.
• Knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, and medical terminology.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and electronic patient record systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to advocate for patients and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements :

• May involve exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, noise, dust, and other environmental conditions.
• Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs as needed.
• Must be able to lift or transport items up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance.
• May require responding quickly to emergency situations.
• The role may involve working with patients who require behavioral intervention or restraint according to facility policies.
• May require rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, irregular hours, or on-call availability.
• Appropriate PPE must be used when required.
• The position may involve periods of high stress and pressure.
