RN – Surgery

The unit offers a wide range of surgical services, including vascular procedures (such as interventional treatments, AV fistula creation, and bypass surgeries), as well as general surgery, gynecology, endocrine, orthopedic, urology, and pain management procedures. Together, the team ensures every patient receives high-quality surgical care in a compassionate, supportive, and healing environment.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with on-call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within six months of hire
One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically .

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
