Road Driver

Role Overview: This position involves operating tractor-trailer combinations to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles and triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies, maintain accurate logs, and verify documentation.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and follow dispatch instructions.
• Load and unload freight as required, perform chaining of tires if needed, and adhere to all laws and company policies.
• May perform duties of city driver or dock employee when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements (automatic transmission restriction acceptable).
• At least 1 year of recent experience or successful completion of a driver development course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Ability to handle trailer hookups, perform physical tasks, and follow instructions.
• Strong communication skills, initiative, and ability to work independently or in a team.

Working Conditions: Drivers operate long distances in various weather conditions, with exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials. Overnight stays may be required, and hours vary based on operational needs.
