Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Road Safety Coordinator with strong IVMS expertise to join a leading petroleum company in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating road safety activities, monitoring driver and fleet performance, managing IVMS data, and ensuring compliance with company and UAE road safety requirements.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in IVMS/fleet monitoring systems, driver safety, incident management, and road safety programs within the Oil & Gas, Petroleum, Energy, or related industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement road safety programs, procedures, and initiatives across company operations.
• Monitor driver and fleet performance through IVMS (In-Vehicle Monitoring System) and identify unsafe driving behaviors.
• Analyze IVMS reports, including speeding, harsh braking, harsh acceleration, excessive idling, seatbelt violations, fatigue-related alerts, and other driving-risk indicators.
• Prepare regular IVMS and driver performance reports and highlight areas requiring corrective action.
• Follow up with drivers and supervisors regarding IVMS violations and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Conduct driver safety awareness sessions, toolbox talks, and road safety briefings.
• Monitor compliance with company driving policies, journey management procedures, and defensive driving requirements.
• Assist in investigating road traffic incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe driving practices.
• Maintain accurate records of road safety incidents, driver violations, corrective actions, and training.
• Support driver competency assessments and periodic driver evaluations.
• Coordinate with fleet, transport, HSE, and operations teams to improve road safety performance.
• Assist in conducting vehicle and driver safety inspections.
• Monitor compliance with applicable UAE traffic regulations and company HSE standards.
• Identify road safety risks and recommend appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
• Support the implementation of Journey Management Plans (JMP) and fatigue management initiatives.
• Prepare dashboards and KPI reports related to road safety and driver performance.
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in fleet and transportation operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Road Safety, HSE, Transport Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Road Safety, Fleet Safety, Transport Safety, or HSE coordination.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas, Petroleum, Energy, EPC, or similar industry is highly preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with IVMS / In-Vehicle Monitoring Systems and fleet tracking platforms.
• Good knowledge of driver monitoring, fleet safety, journey management, and defensive driving practices.
• Experience analyzing IVMS data and preparing driver performance reports.
• Valid UAE Driving Licence is mandatory.
• Good knowledge of UAE road traffic regulations and road safety practices.
• Strong knowledge of HSE and road safety principles.
• Good communication, coordination, reporting, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and reporting tools.

Candidates with any of the following certifications will be preferred:

• NEBOSH / IOSH
• Defensive Driving Certification
• Road Safety Certification
• Fleet Safety Certification
• Journey Management / Fatigue Management training
• HSE-related certifications
