Roaming Operations Engineer L2

YOUR ROLE

• Analyze and resolve complex incidents escalated by the L1 team.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of international roaming platforms and services.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and define corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate incident resolution with international operators, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
• Provide technical leadership during high-impact situations and critical incidents.
• Support and validate change implementations, planned works, and maintenance activities.
• Produce technical documentation, operational procedures, and post-incident reports.
• Support the training and technical development of L1 teams.
• Identify automation and operational optimization opportunities.
• Participate in technology evolution and operational transformation projects.

YOUR PROFILE Must Have

• Basic understanding of International Roaming concepts (Home Network, Visited Network, roaming subscriber flows).

• Experience in telecommunications operations, support, or network monitoring.

• Fundamental knowledge of Mobile Core networks (HLR, HSS, IMS concepts).

• Basic understanding of LTE and VoLTE services.

• Familiarity with signaling protocols:

• SS7

• Diameter

• SIP

• Basic troubleshooting and incident analysis skills.

• Experience using monitoring and ticketing tools.

• Basic IP networking knowledge:

• IP addressing

• DNS

• TCP/UDP

• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish in a technical environment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Availability to work in a 24/7 shift environment and/or provide on-call support when required.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of:

• VoWiFi Roaming

• 5G Roaming

• IPX networks

• Experience with roaming interworking and interoperability between operators.

• Familiarity with:

• STP

• DRA/DRS

• SBC

• Roaming Hubs

• SS7 and Diameter Firewalls

• Security Gateways (SeGW)

• Exposure to subscriber databases and authentication platforms:

• UDM

• UDR

• EIR

• AAA

• LDAP

• Experience with:

• Critical incident management

• Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

• Change management processes

• KPI and SLA monitoring

• Knowledge of automation and operational improvement practices.

• Experience working with international operators, vendors, and equipment suppliers.
