About the role

This role involves creating and refining specific roast profiles to highlight unique acidity, body, and sweetness, while expertly operating industrial roasting equipment and performing routine cleaning and troubleshooting to prevent production downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Create and refine specific roast profiles to highlight unique acidity, body, and sweetness
• Expertly operate industrial roasting equipment and perform routine cleaning and troubleshooting to prevent production downtime
• Conduct daily sensory evaluations and cupping sessions to ensure every batch aligns with established flavor standards and profile consistency
• Collaborate with local farmers or cooperatives to source high-quality green beans, assessing samples for moisture content, density, and defect counts
• Manage the daily roasting schedule based on inventory levels and order volumes from retail, wholesale, and B2B cafe partners
• Track and maintain accurate records of green bean stocks and roasted inventory, ensuring first-in-first-out (FIFO) rotation to preserve freshness
• Utilize roasting tools to log data, monitor real-time roast curves, and analyze historical data for continuous improvement
• Oversee the grinding, weighing, and nitrogen-flushed packaging of beans to ensure the product remains stable for local distribution or export
• Experiment with different roast levels to cater to shifting Indonesian consumer trends
• Ensure the roasting facility adheres to Indonesian food safety standards, including proper sanitation, hygiene, and safe handling of heavy coffee sacks
