Robotic Welder Operator

We are seeking an experienced Robotic Welder Operator to join our manufacturing team. The right candidate will program and operate our Miller welding power source paired with a Panasonic robotic arm and will also weld manually in a traditional cell when robotic work is not scheduled. This is a hands-on role for a skilled welder who wants their craft, their judgment, and their voice to matter.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate the Miller welding power source with Panasonic robotic arm.
• Develop and refine robotic weld programs; troubleshoot programs and the cell as needed.
• Load and unload the robotic cell; verify part fit-up, fixture alignment, and weld quality.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on the robot, torch, consumables, liners, and wire drive system.
• Weld manually in a traditional cell when robotic work is not scheduled.
• Set up fixtures and modular fixturing for both robotic and manual welding.
• Read weld symbols, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Identify weld defects and metal-finish all weldments.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other general equipment used in manufacturing.
• Provide feedback for corrective action and continuous improvement of products.
• Review product designs for weldability during the development process.
• Lead other team members in the future to support the growth of the company.
• Primarily MIG welding mild steel ranging in thickness from 20 gauge to 1-inch.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years minimum work experience in a welding environment with MIG welding.
• Prior experience programming and operating robotic welders (Miller / Panasonic or comparable systems).
• Ability to read weld symbols, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Self-starting, motivated individual who desires to grow their career with RCI.
• Strong work ethic and quality-focused mindset.
• Basic computer skills for Microsoft products.
• TIG and Arc welding experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands continuously throughout the shift.
• Regularly lift and move up to 30 lbs, frequently up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 70 lbs with assistance. Overhead cranes are available for anything to be lifted.
• Vision and dexterity sufficient to perform precision welding, inspect weld quality, and read drawings.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to welding fumes, sparks, heat, and noise; appropriate PPE is provided.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other shop equipment.

• This position is flexible and may be adjusted to fit the applicant’s skills and experience. Please note all additional experience and skills on the application and resume.
• This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday. No other shifts are currently available.
• Flex hours are available for production positions; specifics will be discussed during the interview.
• Overtime is voluntary when available.
• Candidates may be asked to complete a weld sample as part of the interview process.
