Job Overview

As a Robotic Welding Instructor – Work-Based Learning (WBL), you’ll teach students to apply welding and technical skills in practical, career-focused settings. You’ll develop and deliver classroom and online instruction, guide hands-on learning, and connect course content to manufacturing and related skilled trades. Use educational technologies, including Blackboard, to support instruction and course design.

Responsibilities

• Teach robotic welding, welding safety, and related technical skills through classroom and work-based learning activities.
• Develop and update curriculum, course materials, and assessments; use Blackboard and other computers and educational technologies to support online instruction.
• Demonstrate safe equipment use and foundational concepts in programmable logic controllers, maintenance, and mechanical systems.
• Support post-secondary and adult learners, including students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and adapt instruction to varied learning needs.

Qualifications

• Teaching experience, including classroom training, higher education teaching, adult education, or technical skills instruction; experience with post-secondary students is valuable.
• Welding knowledge and technical proficiency; mechanical knowledge and experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) are relevant.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and educational technologies such as Blackboard.
• Related experience in construction, hydraulics, electrical work, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), including HVAC and refrigeration (HVAC/R), air conditioning, automotive service, repair or diagnostics, aircraft maintenance, or Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) practices is an asset.

Pay: $30.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
