What they need

About SPARK Robotics

SPARK Robotics is a UK provider of service robotics and intelligent automation solutions. We help organisations across hospitality, retail, facilities management and other commercial environments improve efficiency, service consistency and customer experience through autonomous cleaning, delivery and service robots.

We are looking for an ambitious Robotics Sales Manager to join our expanding team. This is a consultative, sales-driven role for someone who can understand operational challenges, recommend practical automation solutions and manage opportunities from first contact through to successful handover and long-term account growth.

The opportunity

You will own the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, discovery, demonstrations, proposals, negotiation and close. You will work closely with customers and with our technical, operations, product and marketing teams to ensure every proposed solution is practical, deliverable and aligned with the customer's needs.

Key responsibilities

Sales and business development

  • Proactively identify, prospect and develop new business opportunities for SPARK's robotics solutions across hospitality, retail, facilities management and commercial environments.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through to proposal, negotiation and close.

  • Conduct virtual and on-site product demonstrations, trials and presentations, clearly explaining operational and financial return on investment.

  • Prepare tailored quotations, proposals and business cases aligned with client needs and budgets.

  • Work towards sales targets, performance expectations and key performance indicators set by the company.

Solution management and client consultation

  • Assess customer requirements and recommend appropriate robotics and, where relevant, EPoS solutions.

  • Work with technical, operations and product teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical, deliverable and aligned with customer needs.

  • Support customer meetings, site visits, solution walkthroughs and product trials.

  • Explain technical and operational concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Contribute to solution design, pricing structure, implementation planning and customer onboarding requirements.

Customer relationship management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with operations managers, facilities managers, procurement teams and senior decision-makers.

  • Act as a trusted adviser on automation solutions and deployment models.

  • Ensure a smooth handover of won deals to operations and technical teams, supporting successful implementation and customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain regular account engagement to identify upsell, cross-sell and repeat-business opportunities.

  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records of all sales activity, opportunities and forecasts in HubSpot CRM.

Sales operations and reporting

  • Track sales activity, pipeline, forecasts and progress against agreed targets and KPIs.

  • Provide regular updates to management on pipeline status, customer feedback and market opportunities.

  • Help improve sales processes, documentation, templates and workflows.

  • Support market research, competitor reviews and the identification of new business opportunities.

  • Work with the wider team to ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation, support and account management.

Market and cross-functional support

  • Represent SPARK at exhibitions, trade shows, roadshows and industry events.

  • Stay informed about robotics trends, competitor activity and sector developments.

  • Share customer and market insights to support product development, marketing strategy and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate with operations, technical, marketing and product teams to support customer projects and ensure expectations are clearly understood.

What we are looking for

  • At least 2 years of B2B sales experience, including high-value or solution-based sales.

  • Proven experience managing a full sales cycle and building a qualified pipeline.

  • Strong presentation, communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Confidence conducting discovery meetings, site visits and product demonstrations.

  • Experience using HubSpot or a similar CRM platform.

  • A self-motivated, organised and target-driven approach.

  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.

Experience in robotics, automation, facilities management services, commercial cleaning equipment, IT solutions, warehouse solutions or EPoS would be an advantage.

What we offer

  • Performance-based commission or bonus opportunities, subject to the company's applicable scheme and eligibility criteria.

  • Career development opportunities in a growing robotics business.

  • Exposure to innovative robotics, automation and AI technologies.

  • Company laptop and mobile phone.

  • 28 days' paid holiday per year, including public holidays in England and Wales.

  • Workplace pension, subject to eligibility.

Location and hours

This is a full-time, office-based role at our Gateshead location, with occasional travel to client sites across the UK. Typical working hours are 40 hours per week.
