InnoForge is partnering with an ambitious US space technology company developing robotic systems that will support future operations on the Moon and beyond.

The business is building technology designed to enable the production of critical resources in space, including water, power and oxygen.

We're looking for a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to take ownership of localization software for autonomous lunar rovers operating in some of the most challenging environments imaginable.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll have significant technical ownership, taking algorithms from concept through implementation, simulation and testing on real robotic hardware.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own the design, development and implementation of localization software for lunar rovers.
• Develop and refine algorithms that accurately estimate and track rover position.
• Build and test localization systems in simulation and on physical robotic platforms.
• Evaluate system performance, identify limitations and implement improvements.
• Work across software, robotics and hardware engineering to deliver reliable autonomous systems.
• Make technical decisions independently, balancing performance, reliability and development speed.
• Take an iterative approach to development, rapidly testing, learning and improving solutions.

What We're Looking For

• Strong professional experience developing robotics software, particularly localization and state estimation.
• Solid understanding of localization algorithms and their practical implementation.
• Experience deploying and testing software on real robotic systems, not solely in simulation.
• Strong software engineering skills, ideally in C++ and/or Python.
• Familiarity with technologies such as sensor fusion, SLAM, visual odometry, inertial navigation or related positioning techniques.
• Ability to independently own complex technical challenges from initial design through to validation.
• A practical engineering mindset, comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where solutions need to be built, tested and improved quickly.

Experience in autonomous vehicles, mobile robotics, aerospace, defence or planetary robotics would be particularly relevant.
