About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a leading humanoid robotics company developing advanced robots designed to work safely alongside people in real-world environments.
Backed by top-tier venture capital investors and over $1bn in funding, the company combines a differentiated hardware approach with a clear focus on commercial deployment. Its flagship robot has already generated significant demand, with the first year of production selling out in under a week.
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious engineering team at the forefront of humanoid robotics, developing teleoperation and control systems that bring advanced robots out of the lab and into the real world.
The Role
As a VR Teleoperations Engineer, you’ll design and develop software that enables human operators to control humanoid robots remotely through immersive interfaces and advanced input systems.
You’ll work across robotics software, control systems and operator interaction, translating human movements and commands into reliable robot behavior. The role combines hands-on engineering with complex real-world problem-solving, requiring close collaboration across software, hardware and robotics teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop real-time teleoperation software for intuitive, responsive remote control of humanoid robots.
- Integrate VR/AR interfaces, motion tracking and input devices to translate human movements into robot actions.
- Build control pipelines that deliver precise, stable robot movements while managing latency and system constraints.
- Integrate teleoperation software with robot control systems, sensors and communication infrastructure.
- Implement safety mechanisms, fault handling and recovery systems to ensure reliable operation.
- Test and optimize performance across simulation and physical hardware, improving responsiveness and robustness.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong robotics fundamentals, including kinematics, coordinate transformations, motion control and sensor integration.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, ideally within robotics, real-time or performance-critical systems.
- Experience developing teleoperation systems, VR/AR interfaces, motion tracking or human–robot interaction tools.
- Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2, robotics middleware and real-time data streaming.
- Understanding of latency-sensitive systems, communication protocols and hardware–software integration.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across software, sensors, networking and physical robotic systems.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
