About Rex.zone Rex.zone is hiring for robotics work in Rio de Janeiro focused on building, integrating, and validating robotic systems that connect perception, planning, and control in production-grade workflows. This is a remote, full-time role supporting robotics engineering deliverables through online collaboration, documentation, and reproducible development environments.

About The Role You will design, implement, and validate robotics software and systems that run reliably across simulation and real-world environments. You will integrate perception (computer vision, SLAM), planning (path/motion planning), and controls into an end-to-end autonomy stack; build robust interfaces for sensors/actuators; and improve performance through profiling, testing, and iterative experiments.

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a practical robotics task (e.g., debugging a ROS2 pipeline, implementing a planning behavior, or evaluating localization quality using logs and metrics).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver production-quality robotics features across perception, planning, and control
• Own ROS2 node design, message interfaces, and integration with hardware drivers
• Develop and tune SLAM/localization and sensor fusion modules for robust state estimation
• Implement motion planning/navigation behaviors; validate in simulation and on-target systems
• Create automated tests, scenario-based evaluation, and regression suites
• Build repeatable deployment workflows using Linux, Docker, and CI-friendly tooling
• Investigate field issues using logs, telemetry, and profiling; propose corrective actions
• Write clear technical documentation, runbooks, and engineering specs

Required Qualifications

• Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics or autonomy software
• Strong C++ and Python skills with debugging and performance optimization
• Hands-on experience with ROS2, Linux, and software integration patterns
• Background in at least two areas: SLAM/localization, sensor fusion, motion planning, computer vision, controls
• Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo) and reproducible environments (Docker)
• Ability to design tests and evaluate robotics performance using metrics and experimental rigor
• Clear communication and remote collaboration habits (async updates, documented decisions)

Compensation

• Competitive hourly rate: $30–$50/hr (base)
