Precision Doors & Shutters is looking for an experienced Roller Door Technician, Fitter or Boilermaker to join their Karratha-based operations team on a full-time permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, variety and getting out on site. You’ll be working across Karratha and throughout the Pilbara, servicing major mining and industrial clients while developing specialist skills in industrial doors, shutters, gates and automation systems.

What's on offer?

  • $55–$65 per hour + super, depending on experience
  • Full-time permanent position
  • Monday to Friday
  • Karratha-based with regular travel throughout the Pilbara
  • Approximately 65–75% of your time working away from Karratha
  • Work with major mining and industrial clients
  • Variety of workshop, commercial, industrial and mine-site work
  • Product-specific training provided
  • Opportunity to develop specialist technical skills
  • Immediate start available

About the role

Working as part of the Operations / Field Services team, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of industrial door and access systems.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Installing, maintaining and servicing industrial roller doors and shutters
  • Working on sectional doors, window shutters, aluminium grilles and rapid doors
  • Servicing industrial sliding doors, operable walls and gate automation systems
  • Fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs
  • Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
  • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Working at heights using EWPs and scissor lifts
  • Completing installation and maintenance work across mine, industrial, commercial and residential sites
  • Travelling to client sites throughout Karratha, Port Hedland and surrounding Pilbara regions with potential for over night stay availibility for regional jobs.
  • Working safely and professionally while representing the business on client sites

About you

We’re looking for someone who is mechanically minded, practical and comfortable working independently in the field.

You could be an experienced Roller Door Technician, Fitter, Boilermaker, Mechanical Tradesperson or experienced trades assistant with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a mechanical, maintenance, fitting, fabrication or roller door environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work safely and independently
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Ability to travel and work away from home for extended periods
  • A professional attitude and strong commitment to safety

Mandatory requirements

  • Current unrestricted C Class Driver’s Licence
  • White Card
  • Working at Heights ticket
  • Ability to successfully complete required site medicals and drug & alcohol testing

Highly regarded:

  • High Risk Work Licence
  • Previous Rio Tinto, Fortescue or BHP site inductions
  • Previous mining or heavy industrial experience
  • Roller door, shutter, gate automation or access systems experience

The lifestyle

This isn't a Monday-to-Friday workshop job where every day looks the same.

You’ll be based in Karratha, but will regularly travel throughout the Pilbara, working on different sites and projects. Remote work will generally involve 12-hour shifts and does involve overnight accomodation throughout the week, while Karratha-based work will typically involve 8–12 hour days.

The role operates Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work required depending on client requirements.

Don't rule yourself out.

Product-specific training will be provided on the job, along with site-specific safety training as required. If you have the right attitude, mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills, we'd love to hear from you.

Ready for your next opportunity?

If you're looking for a permanent Karratha-based role with excellent earning potential, plenty of variety and the opportunity to work across some of WA's biggest mining and industrial sites, this could be the role for you.
