Rolling Stock Mechanic

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pacific Veneer is seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing forklifts, loaders, yard trucks and other mobile equipment used in our facility.

We are looking for a reliable, safety-focused mechanic who takes pride in keeping equipment running efficiently and safely.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Overtime as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on forklifts, loaders, yard trucks and all other rolling stock.
• Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, fuel and mechanical issues
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and suspension systems
• Maintain service records and complete work orders
• Inspect equipment for safety and compliance
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards
• Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a rolling stock, heavy equipment, diesel or industrial mechanic
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Experience troubleshooting diesel and propane-powered equipment
• Ability to read service manuals and schematics
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Experience

• Forklift repair certification
• Experience in industrial or wood products manufacturing
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs
