Job Summary
We are seeking a roofing labourerto join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of commercial and residential properties. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The ideal applicant will possess experience with construction-related tasks, including the use of hand tools and power tools, and demonstrate physical strength for heavy lifting. Responsibilities

• Install new roofing systems in accordance with project specifications and safety standards
• Repair or replace damaged or worn roofing materials on existing structures
• Measure and cut materials accurately using hand tools and power tools
• Interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise installation
• Operate welding equipment where necessary for metal roofing components
• Fabricate custom components as required for specialised roofing projects
• Perform carpentry tasks related to roof framing and support structures
• Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and perform maintenance as needed
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including the safe handling of heavy materials
• Assist with masonry, plumbing, or other construction tasks as required by project scope

Requirements

• Proven experience in roofing, construction, or related trades
• Knowledge of schematics, welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and use of hand tools and power tools
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
• Strong understanding of safety protocols in construction environments
• Physical fitness to work at heights and in various weather conditions
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
• Valid relevant certifications or licences are desirable but not essential; willingness to undertake necessary training is expected
