Job Description

Haizain Construction Limited is looking for a highly experienced and skilled Roofer / Roof Joiner to join our growing construction team, working on residential and commercial roofing projects throughout Bolton, Manchester and the North West.

The successful applicant must have a minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience in roofing, roof construction and associated timber joinery.

We require someone who is competent in traditional roofing as well as constructing dormers, dormer cheeks, timber roof frameworks and associated joinery work.

EMPLOYMENT BASIS ONLY – NO SELF-EMPLOYED OR CIS SUBCONTRACTORS.

The position includes an initial three-month probationary period, with continuous, ongoing work and long-term employment opportunities for the right candidate.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Installation and repair of pitched and flat roofs
• Slate and tiled roofing, including full roof replacements
• Construction of dormer roofs and dormer cheeks
• Timber framing and structural framework for dormers
• Roof truss installation and associated timber works
• Cutting, measuring and fitting timber rafters, joists, noggins and roof supports
• Construction of traditional cut roofs and timber roof structures
• General first-fix joinery associated with roofing and dormer construction
• Installation of OSB, plywood, roof decking and boarding
• Installation of roof battens, breathable membranes and insulation
• Leadwork, flashing, valleys, ridges and verges
• Fascias, soffits and guttering
• Roof repairs, maintenance and leak detection
• Reading and understanding roofing drawings and construction specifications
• Ensuring all work complies with building regulations and health and safety requirements

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 10 years' relevant roofing experience
• Valid CSCS Card – compulsory
• Experience constructing dormers and dormer cheeks – essential
• Competent in timber roof framing and roof truss installation
• Good general joinery and carpentry skills
• Extensive experience in slate and tiled roofing
• Knowledge of flat roofing systems
• Ability to measure, cut and install timber accurately
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Good understanding of working safely at height
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Own transport preferred

Tools & Equipment

• Own roofing and joinery tools preferred but not essential
• Company tools and equipment can be provided where required
• Must be competent in using roofing and carpentry equipment safely

Pay & Benefits

• £19.00–£22.00 per hour, depending on experience
