A well-established building envelope consulting and engineering firm is seeking a Roofing Construction Observer to support commercial roofing projects throughout the Minneapolis market.

This position is ideal for someone with hands-on commercial roofing experience who enjoys fieldwork, quality assurance, inspections, and working closely with project teams to ensure installations meet project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observations and inspections of commercial roofing systems.
• Evaluate roofing materials, installation methods, and workmanship for compliance with project specifications and contract requirements.
• Prepare detailed field reports documenting observations, findings, and project progress.
• Verify completed work aligns with construction documents and quality standards.
• Capture site photographs and maintain project documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and project stakeholders to meet project objectives and deadlines.
• Perform quality assurance reviews and communicate recommendations when deficiencies are identified.

Qualifications

• Experience working with commercial roofing systems, construction, inspections, or building envelope projects.
• Strong understanding of roofing materials, installation methods, and industry best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD is beneficial but not required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Knowledge of construction-site safety procedures and best practices.
• Professional certifications such as IIBEC, RRO, RRC, or related credentials are highly desirable.
