Roofing Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Roofing Estimator to join our growing construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive roofing project estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, suppliers, and project managers. Your expertise will help ensure our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. We mainly do new-construction (TPO/EPDM) but also do re-roofs and tare-offs. We have two of our own cranes, a roll-off with four dumpsters, three rack bodies, and a crew from 5-30 guys.

Duties

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project scope and material requirements
• Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Xactimate to develop detailed cost estimates for roofing projects
• Manage project budgets by analyzing material costs, labor estimates, and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing
• Collaborate with clients to negotiate bids, clarify project details, and provide transparent cost breakdowns
• Prepare comprehensive proposals that include scope of work, pricing, and project timelines for review by stakeholders
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, verify measurements, and gather data necessary for precise estimation
• Monitor project costs through effective cost control strategies and update estimates as project details evolve

Experience

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the roofing or broader commercial construction industry
• Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and construction management software
• Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and estimating material requirements from blueprints
• Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, and budgeting for large-scale construction projects
• Excellent negotiation skills with experience in client communication to secure favorable terms and clarify project scope
• Knowledge of construction site procedures and safety standards gained through hands-on construction site experience
• Familiarity with Xactimate or similar estimating tools used specifically for roofing or insurance-related claims is a plus

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
